Dog vaccination helps protect the dog from getting very serious diseases, and dog diseases are sometimes fatal or difficult to treat and take very long times to treat.

There is two types of dog vaccination

Dog vaccination is carried out in two stages, each stage has its own vaccinations that should not be skipped under any circumstances. This is to maintain the health of your beloved animal as well as your health and the health of your family.

First : The eight vaccination

The eight vaccination got this name because the dog is vaccinated to prevent the 8 most common fatal viral diseases of dogs.

These diseases are parvo virus , distemper disease, parainfluenza, hepatitis, leptospira disease, corona disease and adenovirus disease.

These diseases are fatal to animals, and the death rate is up to 80% of infected dogs.

Therefore, the dog must be vaccinated with the eight vaccinations to preserve the dog’s life.

Second : dog vaccinations against rabies

Rabies is the most severe disease transmitted from animals to humans. Rabies is transmitted by biting or through saliva of an animal infected with this virus.

Rabies disease without treatment, is a fatal.

Dog vaccinations and their dates

The eight vaccinations are given to protect dogs from deadly viral diseases, and it’s taken in the first 6-8 weeks of a dog’s life.

After a minimum of 45 days, the dog is given the first dose of vaccination.

Some veterinary clinics follow a specific protocol, which is to give a double vaccination dose at the age of 32 days (against parvo and distemper), and then give an eight vaccination.

This protocol is useful in weak animals, and some prefer it because the puppy at a young age may not tolerate the eight dose from the first time in the vaccination.

But in all cases, dogs or puppies must be vaccinated at the age of 45 days at a minimum, and then the vaccination is repeated within a period of three weeks

Then, three weeks later, the final dose is vaccinated.

Thus, when the puppy reaches the age of 14 weeks, he has been vaccinated with three doses to prevent fatal viral diseases.

The dog is then vaccinated annually once “eight vaccinations” to prevent viral diseases such as parvo and distemper, which are considered fatal diseases in dogs as we explained before.

How many doses of rabies vaccination a dog needs?

When the dog reaches between 12 and 23 weeks of age, the dog must be vaccinated against the deadly rabies disease.

Immunization against rabies is very necessary for the life of the dog and the life of humans, because rabies is one of the fatal and incurable diseases and is transmitted to humans through the saliva of the infected dog.

After the dog is vaccinated against rabies before the 23rd week of the dog’s life, the dog is vaccinated against rabies once a year. To maintain the health of the dog and protect it from any disease.
